You are raiding every day, collect resources and build troops. Than you search for bases to attack, which are easy to win and give you high loot. Sometimes you have to spend more time to find the right base, you click next again and time passes by, time you could do something else or you just want to spend the time clicking next, because you have nothing else to do, which is also okay.

You can upgrade all of your Gold mines to the maximum on Town Hall Level 10 and they will not make more than 10% of your Gold needs in 24 Hours. They produce 3500 Gold an Hour, that is 84.000 Gold in 24 Hours and you got 6 of them at TH10. Than you get attacked, and half of the gold is just taken away by the next stranger who visited your loved base. So as you can see, it will take you forever to get forward.
